Our Verdict
The E8 is the sweet spot of Jura's range and, for our money, of the entire super-automatic category. The Professional Aroma Grinder, 3D brewing and P.E.P. pulse extraction produce one-touch espresso with genuine crema, sweetness and body — coffee you'd accept from a café — while the 17-drink menu covers everything from ristretto to flat white.

Performance Testing
Blind against three rival super-automatics, the E8's espresso won every round: thicker crema, clearer sweetness, none of the thin bitterness that plagues the category. Milk drinks are one-touch and correctly ordered (espresso poured through the milk for cappuccino). From button to finished flat white: 68 seconds. The grinder is noticeably quieter than the Philips and De'Longhi units we test alongside it.
Cleaning & Maintenance
The E8 rinses itself on startup and shutdown and prompts for its cleaning tablet cycle monthly. The milk system needs its daily mini-rinse (30 seconds) — skip it and hygiene degrades fast, as with all tube-fed frothers. With the CLEARYL water filter, Jura says descaling is never required.
