Our Verdict

The Dinamica Plus is De'Longhi's value flagship, and its LatteCrema carafe is the star: sealed, dishwasher-safe, and capable of dense, temperature-stable foam that beats frothers on machines costing twice as much. Espresso is solidly good rather than great — but for latte and cappuccino households, this is the smart-money super-automatic.

Pros & Cons

What we love

  • LatteCrema milk foam is the best in class — period
  • Milk carafe stores in the fridge and cleans in the dishwasher
  • Removable brew group rinses under the tap
  • Coffee Link app for profiles and customization

What could be better

  • Espresso is good-not-great; slightly thin vs. Jura
  • Grinder is the loudest of our test group
  • Touchscreen menu buries some settings

Performance Testing

Cappuccino foam off the LatteCrema carafe was dense enough to spoon — genuinely better than what most people steam by hand. Espresso shots ran pleasant but modest: decent crema, medium body, best on darker roasts and at the 'strong' aroma setting. Where the Dinamica Plus wins is repeatability and speed: five drinks for guests in under six minutes with zero attention.

Cleaning & Maintenance

This is the easiest super-automatic to keep clean that we've tested. The brew group pops out for a weekly tap rinse, the milk carafe's 'Clean' dial steam-purges its spout, and the whole carafe goes in the fridge between uses and the dishwasher after.

Who It's Best For

Milk-drink-first households who want one-touch cappuccinos with minimal hygiene anxiety, and buyers who'd rather bank the $1,100 gap to Jura.

How It Compares

De'Longhi Dinamica Plus vs Jura E8

The Jura pulls clearly better espresso; the De'Longhi counters with better milk hygiene and half the price.

De'Longhi Dinamica Plus vs Philips 5400 LatteGo

Similar price and philosophy; the Philips has more profiles, the De'Longhi better foam quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the machine without the milk carafe?

Yes — remove the carafe and the spout serves espresso, americano and hot water normally.

Does the app add anything real?

Profiles, custom drink recipes and remote start. Useful, not essential — everything works from the touchscreen.

How is it with oat milk?

Surprisingly excellent. The LatteCrema system foams barista-edition oat milk nearly as well as dairy.
